Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in evolving the Tellent HRIS platform by building and maintaining scalable backend services. You will work within a collaborative product squad to solve complex problems, ensuring reliability and performance in business-critical HR workflows. This role requires a product-minded approach, where you will contribute to technical decision-making and occasionally assist with frontend development to deliver the best customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve core HR workflows in Node.js, focusing on rules-heavy domains.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services used by organizations of all sizes.
• Improve the performance, reliability, and maintainability of existing features.
• Refactor and modernize the platform while ensuring a seamless experience for existing customers.
• Contribute to frontend development in React when necessary to deliver optimal customer experiences.
• Collaborate with engineers, Product Managers, QA, and designers to solve customer problems.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing to raise the engineering bar.
