Software Engineer (Platform - SRE)

About the role

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will drive the reliability of the Paddle platform and empower product engineers to work more efficiently. You will focus on infrastructure, reliability standards, and automation, acting as a bridge between disparate product teams to create cohesive solutions. This role involves defining production standards as code and leveraging modern technology to simplify the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain tools to maximise engineering efficiency, including automating deployment infrastructure and database upgrades.
• Seek out processes that can be improved with automation to enhance developer experience.
• Collaborate with other engineers to enable them to perform their jobs more efficiently.
• Create, maintain, and test system disaster recovery processes and associated automation tooling.
• Handle production incidents, author blameless postmortems, and maintain operational playbooks.
• Manage monitoring, alerting, and SLO tracking, and conduct performance investigations and tuning.
• Own cost optimisation workstreams including right-sizing, autoscaling, and identifying waste across AWS infrastructure.
