Software Engineer III | AI/ML

About the role

ExtraHop is seeking a Software Engineer III to join our collaborative engineering team in building a fault-resilient, highly available, and customer-centric platform. You will focus on delivering customer-facing AI/ML features that enable security teams to detect and mitigate cyber threats in real time. This role involves working across the full development lifecycle to build scalable and secure platform components.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain software components that support AI/ML models, agentic processes, and data pipelines.
• Contribute to the monitoring, evaluation, and improvement of algorithms used in behavioral detectors.
• Participate in agile development processes, code reviews, and technical discussions.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, data scientists, and threat researchers to integrate AI/ML features into the broader product architecture.
• Implement well-scoped features and technical improvements with limited guidance from senior team members.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to engineering standards and best practices.
• Help identify and address technical debt to continually improve our codebase and technical stack.
• Assist in the documentation of product features, technical specifications, and engineering guides.
