Senior Backend Engineer - Agent SDK

About the role

Voize is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to own and maintain the Kotlin-based Agent SDK that powers their AI companions. You will shape the runtime and client-facing contracts, ensuring that feature teams can build and ship agents efficiently. This role focuses on building the foundational layer for AI agents, including identity management, observability, and testing infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the SDK as an internal product, shaping the runtime and client-facing contracts.
• Design and implement the identity layer for agents to ensure secure user authentication.
• Integrate telemetry, error reporting, inference, and anonymization into the SDK.
• Develop test kits and architecture tests to protect runtime internals and validate model changes.
• Manage ecosystem changes, including version bumps and compatibility, to support consuming teams.
