Software Engineer II - Database Engineering

About the role

The Software Engineer II, DBE will be a key contributor to the Infrastructure team, ensuring the stability and performance of the DataHub. This role focuses on database reliability, cloud automation, and data integrity to scale systems for massive ingestion demands.

Responsibilities

• Support the scaling of RDBMS and NoSQL systems through proactive monitoring and maintenance.
• Assist in building and maintaining automation and tooling to reduce toil and streamline database deployments.
• Participate in database backbone operations, including managing backups, performing restores, and supporting high-availability configurations.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in production and non-production environments to ensure 24/7 reliability.
• Work closely with senior engineers and product teams to implement database schema changes and follow best practices for scalable distributed systems.
• Ensure data resources are protected and leveraged efficiently through consistent application of security standards and replication monitoring.
