Engineering Team Lead

About the role

Flagstone is seeking a hands-on Engineering Team Lead for a 12-month fixed-term contract to manage the Banks squad on the Bank Portal. You will drive the commercial capability of the partner-facing application, overseeing technical direction, quarterly roadmaps, and day-to-day delivery. This role requires a leader capable of making autonomous technical and risk-based decisions while managing performance and coaching engineers within a regulated, data-sensitive environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the squad's technical direction and quarterly roadmap to drive commercial features.
• Manage day-to-day delivery and performance, including handling underperformance and exits.
• Make autonomous technical debt and risk decisions, escalating only when necessary.
• Contribute to engineering-wide standards and represent squad constraints in tribe-level planning.
• Review full-stack architecture and ensure stability of the migrated platform.
