Senior DevOps Engineer - Repository Migration

About the role

The consultant will take ownership of the technical implementation for migrating an existing software artifact repository to a modern, managed solution. This role covers the entire lifecycle from requirements analysis and solution evaluation through to migration, CI/CD integration, and decommissioning of legacy infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Analyze the existing Sonatype Nexus repository environment, including repositories, artifact formats, dependencies, and usage patterns.
• Assess migration requirements and identify artifacts to be migrated, regenerated, or retired.
• Define technical and security requirements for the future artifact repository solution.
• Evaluate managed/SaaS repository solutions, conduct proof-of-concept assessments, and recommend a suitable target architecture.
• Configure and implement the selected solution, including authentication, permissions, retention policies, and proxy/mirror functionality.
• Execute artifact migration and validate data integrity, checksums, and artifact accessibility.
• Reconfigure CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling, prepare technical documentation, and support the transition.
• Decommission the legacy repository environment and related cloud infrastructure.
