Sr. SW Engineer

About the role

The Senior Software Engineer will serve as a reliability engineer focused on database technology and infrastructure. This role involves designing, architecting, and supporting database projects while ensuring the continuous availability and performance of mission-critical systems. The individual will act as a technical specialist, providing subject matter expertise and solving complex problems within a global payments environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage, support and maintain database technology and infrastructure, adhering to architectural guidelines and policies.
• Ensure continuous 24x7 operation and availability of databases for mission-critical applications, including participation in on-call rotation.
• Install, configure, monitor, upgrade and maintain Redis, MongoDB and Cassandra databases in production and non-production environments.
• Perform database capacity planning, trend analysis, and resource requirement reporting.
• Write and maintain OS-level scripts for database automation and application maintenance.
• Provide technical expertise for the consolidation and migration of databases to new hardware and platforms.
• Conduct proactive and reactive performance analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of escalated technical issues.
