About the role

Gravis Robotics is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to establish and own the quality and reliability processes for their autonomous construction hardware. This role involves defining quality measures, implementing testing systems, and managing supplier quality to ensure the safe operation of heavy machinery. As the first quality hire, the successful candidate will design processes and infrastructure from the ground up.

Responsibilities

  • Define hardware quality standards from the ground up
  • Design and implement testing systems, jigs, and fixtures for inspection and shipping
  • Document failures, perform root cause analysis, and maintain a failure database
  • Conduct teardowns and analysis of field returns to drive corrective actions
  • Manage supplier quality including first article inspection, audits, and 8D follow-through
  • Refine drawings, specifications, and acceptance criteria
  • Develop long-term reliability and environmental test strategies
