About the role

Gravis Robotics is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to establish and own the quality and reliability processes for their autonomous construction machine hardware. You will work closely with the engineering and production teams to define quality measures, manage supply chain validations, and conduct failure analysis. As the first quality hire, you will be responsible for designing testing systems and processes from the ground up.

Responsibilities

  • Define hardware quality standards and processes from the ground up.
  • Design and implement testing systems, jigs, and fixtures for inspection and shipping.
  • Document failures, identify root causes, and maintain a failure database.
  • Perform teardowns and analysis of field returns to drive corrective actions.
  • Manage supplier quality, including first article inspections, audits, and 8D follow-through.
  • Refine drawings and specifications with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Develop long-term reliability and environmental test strategies.
