About the role

Gravis Robotics is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to establish and own the quality and reliability processes for their autonomous construction hardware. You will be the first quality hire, responsible for designing testing systems, managing supplier quality, and conducting failure analysis to ensure the safe operation of heavy machinery. This role requires a hands-on approach to building quality infrastructure from the ground up in a high-growth startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • Define hardware quality standards and acceptance criteria from the ground up.
  • Design and implement testing systems, jigs, and fixtures for inspection and shipping.
  • Document failures, perform root cause analysis, and maintain a failure database.
  • Conduct teardowns of field returns and drive corrective actions.
  • Manage supplier quality through first article inspections, audits, and 8D follow-through.
  • Refine technical drawings and specifications for critical characteristics.
  • Develop long-term reliability and environmental testing strategies.
