About the role
Pleo is looking for a Staff Engineer to join the Business Spend segment to help build and scale procurement to pay services. You will partner with the Engineering Manager to own the architecture of Business Spend, focusing on supplier data migration and improving the reliability of invoice payment flows. This role requires deep technical leadership to drive consistent decisions across multiple teams and navigate complex legacy systems.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Engineering Manager to own and be accountable for the whole architecture of Business Spend.
- Own significant parts of supplier data migration, moving logic out of a legacy service into a dedicated one without downtime.
- Improve the reliability of invoice payment flows to reduce payment failures.
- Turn the new vendor data model into working software across cards, invoices, and accounting.
- Help teams make consistent technical decisions through design documents, code reviews, and architecture forums.
- Raise the performance of the team through pairing, review, and clear technical documentation.

Qualifications
- Extensive experience operating as a technical lead or owner of initiatives with cross-team impact in SaaS organizations of 500+ people
