About the role

The Automation Engineer will take technical responsibility for the Facilities Monitoring and Control System (FMCS) to ensure the reliable operation of production facilities. This role involves monitoring supply media and technical systems, analyzing and resolving malfunctions, and managing external service providers. You will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and optimizing SCADA and PLC systems to support the growth from pilot line to series production.

Responsibilities

• Responsibility for the operation, monitoring, and continuous optimization of the FMCS to ensure trouble-free factory operation.
• Maintenance, diagnosis, and adjustment of SCADA and PLC systems, particularly Siemens WinCC OA or Yokogawa DCS Centum and Siemens S7 controllers.
• Analysis and resolution of malfunctions, alarms, and communication problems in supply and production systems during operation.
• Execution of loop checks, signal tests, and troubleshooting on field devices, instruments, and automation components.
• Maintenance and further development of the system through the integration of new data points, visualizations, reports, and alarm concepts, as well as ensuring up-to-date technical documentation.
• Technical contact person for external service providers, suppliers, and auditors, and support for qualifications, acceptance tests, and change control processes.

Qualifications

• Completed training as an electronics technician for automation technology with further training as a state-certified technician

• Several years of practical experience with industrial SCADA and PLC systems in a production or industrial environment
