Field Structured Cabling Senior Technician

About the role

The Field Structured Cabling Senior Technician manages and controls structured cabling activities on-site to ensure installations meet design specifications and project schedules. This role acts as the primary interface between design teams, project managers, contractors, and vendors to translate design drawings into accurate cabling deployments. The position focuses on maintaining proper change control, documentation, and oversight of installation quality in data center environments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and control structured cabling activities from early project stages through deployment completion.
• Supervise and direct external contractors, including planning and controlling cable pull schedules.
• Ensure cabling installations follow approved DWG drawings, specifications, cable routes, and quantities.
• Track cable pulls, routes, and completion status; document progress and any deviations.
• Apply minor layout updates directly in DWG files and escalate major design changes.
• Oversee installation of cable tray and containment systems based on project timelines.
• Maintain accurate field documentation and update tracking spreadsheets or deployment systems.
• Coordinate with logistics teams and vendors to ensure timely delivery and staging of cabling materials.
