About the role
The Data Architect will define and lead the enterprise data architecture for Cordance Commerce, with primary responsibility for unifying reporting platforms, data models, and analytics capabilities. This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on turning fragmented operational data into a scalable, governed, and reliable data platform. The role involves partnering with cross-functional teams to establish migration strategies that separate analytical workloads from transactional systems.
Responsibilities
- Own the target-state data architecture and roadmap for a unified reporting and analytics platform.
- Assess current transactional databases, data pipelines, and reporting tools to document dependencies and performance risks.
- Define a shared enterprise data model, master-data strategy, and system-of-record ownership for core business entities.
- Design the separation of transactional and analytical workloads using cloud data warehouse or lakehouse patterns.
- Create a phased migration strategy for consolidating reporting while maintaining business continuity.
- Develop standards for data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and data quality.
- Establish data governance practices covering ownership, security, and privacy.
