About the role

The Developer Relations Engineer acts as a technical expert, strategist, and communicator to engage with open-source communities and developer-centric organizations. This role bridges the gap between the company and its users by providing technical insights, gathering feedback to shape product offerings, and fostering innovation. The engineer will combine practical engineering skills with diplomacy to improve developer experiences across cloud, IoT, and data science domains.

Responsibilities

  • Take part in team product meetings, contributing insight and expertise from strategy to day-by-day development progress.
  • Maintain conversations with developer community members across various platforms including IRC, social media, and forums.
  • Work with internal teams to help establish commonality and consistent approaches.
  • Help solve specific technical problems identified by users or colleagues.
  • Contribute to technical documentation to ensure developer needs are met.
  • Work on technical articles, presentations, or workshops.
  • Identify new opportunities and directions for improvement in the developer experience.
  • Present at conferences, meetups, or technical events.
