Maintainer

About the role

As a Maintainer, you will ensure the stability, security, and availability of mature systems as user numbers and functionality grow. You will automate operations, maintain system visibility, and resolve incidents in a structured manner. The role involves working within a new AI-native product team to support the online campus, websites, and AI-driven learning products.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, and performance targets for availability and response times.
• Automate operations including deployments, updates, backups, and recovery using Infrastructure as Code and pipelines.
• Systematically resolve incidents, document root causes, and prevent recurrences.
• Manage security patches, dependencies, access rights, and data protection requirements.
• Monitor cloud costs and plan capacity for growth.
• Maintain the learning platform in collaboration with external service providers.
• Use AI tools to accelerate log analysis, runbooks, and recurring operational tasks.
• Coordinate handovers with the Builder and Sweeper roles and document operational knowledge.
