About the role

The Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician will play a central role in ensuring the safety and quality of dispensed medicines at our modern, technology-enabled pharmacy site. This position focuses on accuracy checking, maintaining high standards, and fostering a culture of accountability and patient safety without the demands of a retail environment. You will be trusted to lead, identify potential issues, and mentor junior colleagues to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Carry out accuracy checks on dispensed medicines while ensuring compliance with legal, operational, and safety standards.
• Take ownership of the end-to-end dispensing process.
• Maintain clear, accurate prescription records and escalate discrepancies.
• Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to a team culture of accountability, safety, and quality.
• Stay updated on professional development, best practices, and regulatory changes.
• Work with pace and purpose to ensure timely delivery of patient needs.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ in Pharmacy Services (ACT) or equivalent ACT qualification
• Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC
