Principal Engineer

About the role

Principal Engineers at Fin lead the definition and execution of key strategic initiatives while working autonomously within the engineering organization. You will build both back-end and front-end systems, coach and mentor other engineers, and partner with leadership on technical strategy. This role involves a mix of hands-on development and architectural leadership to help scale systems and drive product success.

Responsibilities

• Drive key strategic projects as a leader within the R&D organization.
• Provide assessments of project progress, risks, and challenges to guide resource allocation.
• Contribute to technical architecture and scale systems to meet customer demand.
• Balance agility with scalability and availability through continuous deployment.
• Participate in all phases of software development including ideation, prototyping, and implementation.
• Play an active role in hiring, mentoring, and career development of other engineers.
• Raise the bar for technical standards, performance, and operational excellence.
