Flight Test Engineer

About the role

As a Flight Test Engineer, you will manage the end-to-end lifecycle of flight test campaigns, from initial planning and hazard assessment to execution and data analysis. You will serve as the primary onsite leader, coordinating flight line operations, managing test schedules, and ensuring a disciplined and safe testing environment. Your role involves transforming raw flight data into actionable insights to validate system performance.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Onsite Test Coordinator to lead daily operations and maintain focus on test objectives.
• Communicate the daily flight schedule and lead pre-flight briefings and debriefings.
• Coordinate airframes, ground support equipment, and personnel to maximize efficiency.
• Execute UAV flight tests in compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
• Document flight activities and anomalies with high fidelity.
• Develop flight test techniques and instrumentation requirements.
• Lead flight readiness reviews and contribute to safety review boards.
• Develop flight test plans, test cards, and hazard assessments.
• Analyze flight data using MATLAB or Python to validate system performance.
• Manage configuration of flight test articles and hardware/software versions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering
