Senior Data Scientist

About the role

Customer.io is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to partner with Product, Marketing, and Customer Experience teams to drive decision-making through data. This hands-on role involves analyzing customer behavior, designing experiments, and building models to influence business strategy and product roadmaps. The ideal candidate balances technical rigor with practical application to solve ambiguous problems.

Responsibilities

• Analyze behavioral patterns across the customer lifecycle to identify trends and opportunities for engagement and retention.
• Design experiments and measurement approaches to evaluate the impact of product and marketing changes.
• Build models and datasets to improve customer segmentation, forecasting, and trend identification.
• Apply machine learning and AI techniques to solve practical internal and customer-facing problems.
• Partner with Data Engineering to improve the quality, reliability, and accessibility of core data and metrics.
• Communicate analytical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders to support informed decision-making.
