About the role
You will build a protein production cascade from the first manual run, developing DNA design, molecular biology, protein expression, purification, and quality control protocols. This role involves transitioning these manual workflows onto an automation platform to generate high-quality, traceable data for AI-driven biological research. You will work at the intersection of bench science, automation engineering, and software development to ensure protocols are designed for autonomous execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop and run manual protein production workflows including DNA design, expression, and purification.
- Establish reproducibility, precision, and acceptance thresholds for assay protocols.
- Collaborate with automation and software teams to design and validate automation-ready protocols.
- Author SOPs and contribute to the development of the assay portfolio.
- Perform analytical characterisation and data analysis to ensure high-quality output.
- Mentor junior scientists and technicians as the team grows.

Qualifications
- PhD in protein biochemistry, molecular or structural biology, biophysics, analytical characterisation, or biologics developability with 2+ years of relevant experience
- MSc in a relevant science with 5+ years of equivalent bench experience in protein science
