Director, Associate General Counsel

About the role

The Associate General Counsel provides responsive, practical, and solution-oriented legal support to departments and entities within this global company. The role involves managing a broad range of legal matters including transactional work, employment law, corporate governance, and strategic initiatives under the supervision of the Deputy General Counsel.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for contracting for international subsidiaries, including drafting and negotiating commercial, HCP engagement, and clinical trial agreements.
• Advises the international Human Resources team on employment law matters throughout the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions.
• Assists with managing employment-related claims and litigation.
• Manages legal support for day-to-day contracting needs, including template preparation and maintenance.
• Counsels internal clients throughout the contract lifecycle and directly negotiates contracts on behalf of business units.
• Develops policies and procedures related to the Legal Affairs Team’s scope of work.
• Counsels senior managers and executives on legal matters, including employment and regulatory issues.
• Manages outside counsel assigned to internal projects.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor or equivalent degree
• License to practice law
• Ten years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal department
