Senior/Staff Go Backend Engineer

About the role

Qonto is looking for a Backend Engineer to build and maintain the financial infrastructure that supports over 600,000 European SMEs. You will work within a mission-based team to design scalable APIs and robust banking services while contributing to technical leadership and continuous improvement. The role requires a strong ownership mindset and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and maintain services handling real financial transactions.
• Co-own service architecture, resilience, and scalability using Domain-Driven Design principles.
• Lead design discussions, anticipate risks, and mentor less experienced engineers.
• Drive continuous improvement by addressing CI issues, running post-mortems, and sharing learnings across the team.
• Contribute to discovery, make technical decisions, and monitor production performance.
