Production Engineer - Optical & Semiconductor Systems

About the role

Infinitesima is seeking an experienced Production Engineer to build, integrate, and test precision optical, electro-mechanical, and photonic assemblies for advanced metrology systems. This role involves collaborating with scientists and engineers to solve manufacturing challenges, improve processes, and ensure high-value systems meet performance standards. The position focuses on low-volume, high-complexity production rather than high-volume manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and test complex optical, cabling, and electro-mechanical sub-assemblies while ensuring compliance with quality and performance standards.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve manufacturing issues by leading root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
• Drive manufacturing process improvements by designing trials, validating changes, and updating controls to enhance efficiency.
• Lead complex system integration activities, validating performance and ensuring manufacturing readiness.
• Partner with Engineering to support product development, new product introduction, and the transfer of new processes into production.
• Mentor colleagues and maintain high standards of housekeeping and health and safety.
