About the role

The Software Engineer, AI Enablement will help the engineering organization maximize the use of AI-assisted development. This foundational role involves building tools, workflows, and practices to help engineers build faster and more safely with AI. You will report to a co-founder and work within a small team to shape the company's AI enablement strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with engineering leadership and technical staff to define and drive the internal AI-enablement roadmap.
  • Work closely with the team building Aperture by Tailscale.
  • Build and iterate on tools, workflows, and shared practices for coding agents.
  • Partner with teams to identify high-leverage opportunities to apply AI.
  • Establish guardrails, review practices, and documentation for safe AI-generated code usage.
  • Track adoption and measure the impact of AI tooling on velocity and quality.
