Senior Network Engineer

About the role

Contabo is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to manage and evolve their large-scale cloud infrastructure platform. You will take ownership of the network backbone, lead the build-out of a new AI data center, and ensure the reliability of existing systems through design, operation, and security hardening. This role involves working within a self-organizing, agile team to bridge the gap between NetOps and Platform Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate complex network, server, and security systems
• Drive the build-out of new AI data center infrastructure from commissioning to production
• Analyze and resolve network faults and harden security through firewalls, ACLs, and NAC
• Monitor network traffic and infrastructure performance while reporting key metrics
• Coordinate with external service providers and remote hands globally
• Maintain network documentation, runbooks, and change logs
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering on Kubernetes networking, Cilium BGP peering, and IPAM
