About the role
Canonical is seeking a Senior Web Engineer to drive best practices and lead technical initiatives within their Web Engineering team. The role involves owning the development of large projects, mentoring team members, and representing the team as a subject matter expert. You will work in a globally distributed environment, contributing to the success of products like Ubuntu through technical advocacy and rigorous engineering processes.
Responsibilities
- Identifying what matters for the team and driving initiatives to improve them
- Design and implement well-tested and documented software
- Debug and fix issues encountered by your users
- Leading in our engineering process through code and architectural reviews
- Contribute to technical documentation to make it the best of its kind
- Seek improvements to engineering and operations practices
- Deploy and operate services developed by the team
- Contribute to the success of your product through technical advocacy
