About the role

Deliveroo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the New Verticals team in London. You will design, build, and scale high-performance features across the full stack to support a global, three-sided marketplace. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex technical challenges and improve the grocery and retail ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Drive technical execution by designing, building, and scaling backend services and frontend components that handle high-traffic workloads.
• Lead architectural improvements and code reviews to ensure system efficiency and operational health.
• Partner with cross-functional disciplines to plan projects, foresee dependencies, and mitigate technical risks.
• Break down complex problems into deliverable choices to influence the roadmap and technical direction.
• Support the growth of others by mentoring colleagues and participating in the engineering hiring process.
