About the role

The Doctoral Researcher will contribute to the Electoral Spaces project by developing research data infrastructure for geocoded electoral data. The role involves setting up data storage, programming R interfaces, and supporting data ingestion pipelines to make social science research data more accessible. The position is designed to support the completion of a PhD thesis aligned with the project's goals.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up the data storage technology and programming the R interface and auxiliary tools for Electoral Spaces
  • Testing and assessing the tech stack to ensure it meets researchers' needs for spatial electoral data
  • Supporting data modeling, data ingestion pipelines, and curation workflows
  • Contributing to technical documentation, project outreach, and dissemination
  • Conducting methodological or applied research showcasing the added value of the infrastructure
