About the role
Canonical is seeking a Linux devices software engineer to join the SnapD team, focusing on mission-critical Golang code for software delivery, security sandboxing, and device management. The role involves working at the heart of the operating system to ensure the robustness and performance of snaps across various Linux distributions. You will collaborate with a distributed team to develop features, debug system-level issues, and maintain high standards of code quality.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate proactively with a distributed team
- Write high quality code to create new features
- Debug Linux system level issues and produce high quality code to fix them
- Review code produced by other engineers
- Discuss ideas and collaborate on finding good solutions
- Obsess over how to achieve robustness despite unexpected events like power outages
- Work from home with global travel for up to two weeks, twice a year
