About the role
Recorded Future is seeking a subject matter expert to lead dark web collection efforts and serve as the internal authority on underground community dynamics. This role involves making strategic decisions regarding collection priorities while personally navigating underground infrastructure to extract intelligence. The successful candidate will act as both a strategic leader and a hands-on operator, collaborating across teams to enhance intelligence capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the company-wide subject matter expert on dark web and underground community dynamics
- Make and own strategic collection decisions regarding forums, markets, and channels
- Identify, evaluate, and gain access to criminal forums, darknet marketplaces, and Telegram channels
- Develop and maintain collection strategies, personas, and source documentation
- Partner with engineering to translate research tradecraft into automated collection pipelines
- Monitor sources for operational changes and continuously adapt collection methods
- Produce finished intelligence on key threat actors, community dynamics, and emerging infrastructure
- Represent Recorded Future externally through blogs, webinars, and public research
