About the role

Canonical is seeking a software architect to drive the design and evolution of LXD and MicroCloud. The role focuses on making compute clusters, system containers, and virtual machines reliable and easy to use. You will work on distributed systems, networking, and storage to simplify infrastructure for global users.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture of LXD and MicroCloud
  • Mentor, develop, and advise colleagues in their career progression
  • Develop software using Golang and C
  • Review code produced by other engineers
  • Ensure the product is secure and performant
  • Display technical leadership in Canonical and our communities
  • Work from home with global travel twice annually for company events
