About the role
Shift is seeking a hands-on Staff AI Engineer to serve as a technical anchor for its AI-driven platform capabilities. This role involves designing, prototyping, and scaling modern AI and LLM systems while shaping the company's broader AI engineering strategy. You will work closely with data scientists and product leaders to ship production-grade AI solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and build production-ready agentic workflows and custom orchestration layers.
- Move AI prototypes into robust, production-grade microservices on Azure.
- Integrate emerging paradigms such as Model Context Protocol, advanced RAG patterns, and vector pipelines.
- Establish operational frameworks for LLMOps, including experiment tracking, evaluations, and model observability.
- Lead technical design reviews, set coding standards, and mentor engineering squads.
- Benchmark new models and AI tools to translate breakthroughs into practical product implementations.
