Superintendent Pharmacist

About the role

The Superintendent Pharmacist will take ownership of clinical governance, regulatory compliance, and professional standards for a rapidly growing, digital-first pharmacy. This senior leadership role involves providing regulatory direction, overseeing Controlled Drugs governance, and ensuring the pharmacy operates safely and efficiently as it scales. The successful candidate will work closely with the senior leadership team to shape pharmacy strategy and ensure readiness for future expansion.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for clinical governance and professional standards across the pharmacy.
• Ensure compliance with GPhC standards, MHRA regulations, and all relevant statutory requirements.
• Oversee Controlled Drugs governance, including safe storage, handling, and accurate record-keeping.
• Provide professional and clinical leadership to a pharmacy workforce of over 100 people.
• Lead regulatory inspections, audits, and compliance reviews to ensure the pharmacy remains inspection-ready.
• Maintain and improve pharmacy systems, processes, and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Collaborate with operational leadership to balance prescription volumes, service delivery, and regulatory requirements.
