Rail Coordinator

About the role

The Rail Coordinator is responsible for managing rail freight operations and ensuring trains move efficiently. This role involves maintaining constant communication with train drivers, traffic control, customers, and terminals to provide updates and resolve operational challenges. You will work within a 24/7 shift-based team environment to ensure smooth logistics and safety.

Responsibilities

• Process notifications for ports, trains, and terminals
• Carefully enter all data into various systems
• Keep customers and suppliers up-to-date on the train run
• Manage flexible switching in the event of delays and rescheduling
• Facilitate communication via phone, email and teams
• Establish clear handovers to ensure continuity
• Prepare instructions for train drivers
• Assist in the handling of incidents and safety-related issues

Qualifications

• MBO working and thinking level
• 1 to 5 years of relevant work experience in the rail and/or transport sector
