About the role
As a Senior Structural Assembly Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and industrializing structural assembly processes for the EL9 hybrid-electric aircraft. You will collaborate with Product Engineering to ensure designs incorporate DFMA principles and support the transition from prototype build to production implementation. This role involves providing manufacturing oversight at supplier sites and establishing structural assembly supply chain capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Product Engineering to ensure structural designs incorporate DFMA principles.
- Review structural designs, drawings, and engineering changes from a manufacturing perspective.
- Participate in design trade studies and concept reviews to identify manufacturing constraints.
- Provide Manufacturing Engineering oversight and liaison support at airframe and structural suppliers.
- Work with Tooling Engineering to define assembly tooling concepts and requirements.
- Support prototype fabrication, development aircraft assembly, and production implementation.
- Coordinate technical resolution of manufacturing issues and nonconformances with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Capture lessons learned to drive improvements in product design and manufacturing processes.
