Specialty Insurance Underwriter/Coverage Attorney/Consultant/Professional

About the role

Brain Co. is seeking experienced specialty insurance professionals to help develop AI-native operating systems for the insurance industry. You will work directly with engineering teams to annotate insurance documents, review AI-generated outputs, and define the rubrics and benchmarks that ensure machine learning pipelines meet expert standards. This role involves translating complex insurance practice into product requirements to ensure AI models accurately interpret specialty insurance policies.

Responsibilities

• Locate and annotate the limits structure within excess policies including limits, sublimits, retentions, and attachment points.
• Produce structured conclusions regarding how coverage responds to described scenarios based on insuring agreements and exclusions.
• Review AI-generated output, correct mislabeled data, and grade agent performance against expert standards.
• Resolve ambiguous or conflicting situations such as manuscript wordings, follow-form excess, and schedule-of-underlying disputes.
• Design scoring criteria and review workflows to ensure the accuracy of data extraction and coverage conclusions.
• Translate insurance practice into product requirements and explain market conventions to engineering teams.
• Review real policies, endorsements, and claims documents to establish an expert standard for AI improvement.
