About the role
The Senior Electrical Characterisation Engineer will join the Process Integration team to understand, qualify, and improve the silicon devices used in quantum processors. This role sits at the intersection of semiconductor manufacturing and quantum hardware, requiring the use of electrical characterisation and large-scale data analysis to identify root causes of device behaviour and improve fabrication processes. The successful candidate will work closely with foundries and engineering teams to enhance the yield, quality, and scalability of quantum technology.
Responsibilities
- Drive electrical characterisation of fabricated silicon devices, developing and improving high-throughput screening methods.
- Turn electrical data into manufacturing insight by identifying patterns and connecting them back to semiconductor process steps.
- Develop automated measurement and test infrastructure, creating robust Python-based test routines and instrument-control workflows.
- Analyse large-scale electrical datasets using statistical process control and yield analysis to monitor wafer uniformity and process drift.
- Work directly with semiconductor foundries and process engineers to provide actionable feedback for improving device performance.
- Build scalable characterisation processes, establishing testing standards, calibration procedures, and data pipelines.
