Senior Software Engineer - Data Search

About the role

Modash is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Data Search team and improve how customers discover creators across 400M+ profiles and billions of media files. You will work across the full retrieval system, including data pipelines, embeddings, ranking, and low-latency serving to solve complex search problems. This role involves taking ambiguous product challenges from concept to production while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Improve creator search retrieval, filtering, ranking, relevance, and speed.
• Build systems to generate and utilize multimodal embeddings from images, video, text, and audio at scale.
• Evaluate and implement search technologies, balancing cost, latency, and quality for production systems.
• Own the end-to-end system lifecycle, including requirements gathering, architecture design, implementation, and performance measurement.
