Senior Data Scientist (Imaging)

About the role

Relation is a TechBio company focused on discovering transformational medicines by integrating single-cell multi-omics, functional assays, and machine learning. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will build generative and predictive models of cellular behaviour with a focus on high-content imaging. You will work in an interdisciplinary team to curate datasets, design evaluation frameworks, and bridge the gap between computational models and wet lab imaging assays.

Responsibilities

• Curate training-ready imaging datasets across cell painting and brightfield assays.
• Drive evaluation design for imaging modalities in partnership with ML and data scientists.
• Interpret foundation-model behaviour on cellular imaging and identify failure modes.
• Partner with wet lab assay teams to ensure imaging assays are analytically tractable.
• Contribute to multi-modal evaluation by linking imaging readouts to single-cell and perturbation data.
• Communicate methodology and findings across the computational team.
• Track developments in foundation models for biological imaging and integrate relevant advances.
