About the role
Ultralytics is seeking its first in-house lawyer to build and lead the legal function from the ground up. This role focuses on managing the AGPL-3.0 and Enterprise dual-licensing model for YOLO, negotiating commercial agreements, and establishing governance processes. You will work closely with Sales, Operations, and Engineering to manage legal risk and support the company's global expansion.
Responsibilities
- Own the AGPL-3.0 and Enterprise licensing model end to end, including violation detection and negotiation.
- Structure and negotiate enterprise license agreements, including scope, pricing, and audit rights.
- Manage the IP portfolio strategy, including trademarks, copyright, and trade secrets.
- Draft, review, and negotiate SaaS, distribution, partnership, and vendor agreements.
- Build contract templates, playbooks, and approval workflows from scratch.
- Advise on GDPR, data processing, and international data transfers.
- Select and manage outside counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
