Applied AI, Technical Lead, Forward Deployed AI Engineer

About the role

Mistral AI is seeking a Technical Lead to drive the technical strategy, execution, and delivery of complex AI solutions for enterprise customers. You will lead teams of Applied AI Engineers to deploy high-impact, scalable AI use cases while acting as the primary technical point of contact for strategic clients. This role bridges the gap between cutting-edge AI research and real-world enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver critical code and de-risk complex projects through hands-on development and code reviews.
• Lead technical teams of Applied AI Engineers by providing mentorship and technical guidance.
• Lead technical discussions during pre-sales to translate customer requirements into actionable solutions.
• Design and oversee the implementation of complex AI systems including fine-tuning, RAG, and agentic workflows.
• Drive innovation by identifying emerging AI trends and evaluating new tools and methodologies.
• Collaborate with product managers, researchers, and engineers to integrate customer feedback into the product development cycle.
