Staff Data Scientist - Geospatial

About the role

Relay is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to own and evolve the location and movement datasets that underpin their delivery network. This senior individual contributor role involves defining technical strategy, building predictive models, and partnering with engineering to integrate data solutions into the delivery operation. The successful candidate will focus on improving operational speed and reliability through high-impact geospatial data products.

Responsibilities

• Define how to measure the quality of geospatial data and quantify its impact on operations.
• Own the technical strategy and roadmap for geospatial data solutions.
• Partner with engineering to productionise and integrate solutions into the delivery operation.
• Build observability into pipelines to detect and address data quality degradation.
• Develop reusable data products and define core business metrics.
• Coach and mentor other data scientists on technical approaches and production standards.
