About the role
You will be responsible for the structural analysis of entire assemblies for rocket primary and secondary structures. This role involves trading design concepts, sizing and validating design iterations, and examining the impact of manufacturing deviations to guide design decisions. You will also improve analysis and verification workflows by defining standards and mentoring junior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed stress analysis of aerospace structures and components using classical hand calculations and advanced finite element methods
- Identify failure scenarios and collaborate with design engineers to review and optimize structural designs
- Define applicable load cases, addressing the impact of thermal and quasi-static loads
- Analyze and provide solutions to manufacturing non-conformities
- Develop test plans and support physical testing of components to verify sizing assumptions
- Prepare comprehensive stress analysis reports and documentation
- Improve standards and toolchains for structural verification
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers
