Fire Alarm Service and Maintenance Engineer

About the role

Firetecnics is seeking a Fire Alarm Service and Maintenance Engineer to join their regional team in Brighton and Hove. The role focuses on planned servicing, reactive fault-finding, and remedial works on fire detection systems, with opportunities to expand technical expertise into AOV systems and emergency lighting. Engineers will work within defined regional clusters to provide reliable, compliant fire safety solutions for residential and commercial clients.

Responsibilities

• Service and maintain fire detection and alarm systems in accordance with BS 5839-1:2025 and company procedures.
• Attend reactive fault calls, diagnose system issues methodically and complete first-time fixes.
• Use panel information, event histories, and software tools to support fault diagnosis and system interrogation.
• Identify defects and remedial requirements, completing small works, upgrades or repairs.
• Produce accurate engineer reports and compliance documentation.
• Represent the company professionally with customers, residents, and site teams.
• Develop capability across AOV systems and emergency lighting through training.
• Maintain van stock, tools, and equipment while participating in the out-of-hours call-out rota.
