Stateful Services Engineer

About the role

Diabolocom is building an AI-first communication platform and is seeking a Stateful Services Engineer to help build and operate the infrastructure foundation behind the platform. You will work on an infrastructure environment combining carrier-grade voice systems, on-premise data centers, distributed systems, and AI workloads to support the company's growth. Your role involves building, operating, and improving stateful services with a strong focus on databases and data stores to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain stateful services including PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Redis, RabbitMQ and Kafka/Redpanda.
• Contribute to the design, evolution and scaling of database infrastructure.
• Work on projects to make database maintenance, upgrades and migrations safer and less disruptive.
• Improve high availability, replication, failover, backup/restore and disaster recovery across stateful systems.
• Investigate and solve complex performance, scalability and reliability issues across databases and distributed systems.
• Collaborate with development, SRE, networking and infrastructure teams to ensure reliable operations.
• Participate in on-call and incident management rotations.
