Spinning Disk Confocal Specialist – Advanced Life Science Systems

About the role

The Spinning Disk Confocal Specialist supports the European Life Science Sales team in driving the sales process for high-end microscopy systems. This role involves conducting system demonstrations, managing customer touch points, and developing strategic sales activities to increase market share within the DACH region and Eastern Central Europe. The specialist acts as a technical expert, collaborating with internal teams and distribution partners to position products competitively against market alternatives.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the direct sales team and distribution partners in driving the sales process for spinning disk confocal solutions.
• Managing, organizing and conducting all customer touch points during the sales process including meetings, demonstrations, and workshops.
• Developing distribution partners through joint customer visits, product training, and regular pipeline reviews.
• Observing and analyzing market trends to develop action plans for increasing market share.
• Positioning systems against competing platforms in customer evaluations and head-to-head demonstrations.
• Tracking competitor products, pricing, and customer wins to provide feedback to Sales, Marketing, and Product Management.
• Conducting lectures and training at customer events and participating in local exhibitions.

Qualifications

• University degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Engineering or similar
• PhD or background in scientific research using spinning disk confocal or comparable imaging technologies
• 3–5 years professional experience in a specialist role using spinning disk confocal technology
• Experience in operating or selling complex, software-controlled microscope systems
