About the role
Tier 2 Robot Pilots are responsible for collecting high-quality manipulation data by teleoperating robotic systems using VR equipment. The role involves meeting data throughput and quality standards, troubleshooting routine hardware and software issues, and supporting researchers with evaluation protocols. Pilots work in a lab environment and must maintain strict adherence to safety procedures and task specifications.
Responsibilities
- Collect high-quality robot training data by teleoperating robotic systems using VR equipment and hand controllers.
- Meet daily performance expectations for data collection throughput, quality, and consistency.
- Follow task specifications and SOPs precisely while maintaining experiment documentation.
- Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to lab safety procedures.
- Support evaluations by running structured protocols and reporting results.
- Troubleshoot and report issues with robot hardware, software, and teleop tooling.
- Perform basic operational maintenance including workspace resets, calibration, and battery swaps.
