About the role

Tremendous is seeking its first Head of Security to own and define the company's security posture. This is a player-coach role where you will initially perform hands-on security work while partnering with engineering to drive implementation, eventually building and leading a security team. You will report to the VP of Engineering and be responsible for managing security across production infrastructure, incident response, and AI tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Own Tremendous' security posture end-to-end, partnering with the engineering team on production infrastructure and code security.
  • Assess security gaps, prioritize them, and execute on high-leverage improvements.
  • Treat incident response as a core function to ensure breaches are contained and managed effectively.
  • Drive a cultural shift toward security across the company by working collaboratively with teams.
  • Lead the company's AI-security posture, managing risks while enabling the use of AI tooling.
  • Define the strategy for staffing the security function and hire your own team.
